Hi All,
Last fall, we signed a contract with Southeastern Tennis to repair our tennis court cracks and then resurface and repaint the courts. We also are having pickleball lines added so that you can use the courts to play tennis or pickleball.
We expected to have the work completed this past spring. But, ST has been very behind schedule because of weather and labor shortages.
I just heard from ST, and they plan to start prepping the courts for our job TOMORROW (August 5) and will work on them ALL NEXT WEEK.
Re: Pickleball nets:
Pickleball nets are slightly shorter than tennis nets. (Pickleball: 36 inches at the sides, 34 inches in the middle. Tennis: 42 inches at the sides, 36 inches in the middle.) So…we’re talking a difference of two inches at the middle which, for amateur players, is negligible. Many neighborhoods just leave their tennis nets’ heights where they are when using their courts to play pickleball. But, if you want to adjust them, just be sure to return to tennis net heights after you finish playing.
And, to that end, we’ll hang yardsticks on the west and east tennis fences.
Thanks for your continued patience. I’ll let you know when the courts are ready for play.
